Excellent! Great job Malcolm.

I'm curious, what is a "Darby Caboose" on the Illinois Central, and why are they called that?
They sure are beautiful,, as always!

First I heard that term, also.
I imagine it has something to do with the extended end platforms, unique to the IC's extended vision and old outside braced transfer cabeese.

They were built by the Darby Corporation, IC also built their own version at Centrailia and they had riveted sides. BTW, Darby is my dog's name too.
Thank you, Malcolm

Thanks Malcolm, that is really interesting prototype information.
Darby's also had smooth roofs whereas Centralia builds had roofs similar to an International Wide Vision. Excited to get my hands on these.

GM&O Murphysboro Division on O scale.
Malcolm, Very awesome!
Malcolm,
Did Darby and/or IC Centraila build them from "scratch" or did they start with a "fill in the blank" as a base?
I lived aside the KY Division for many years.......
Many Thanks
Finished photos on first post.
Rick, I do not know the answer to that.
Malcolm
Thanks Malcolm,
The cabooses look great.
Rick.
Those are interesting, "different" cabooses, with the "porches". Didn't the IC run
some unusual side door cabooses with a small door up high on the side...I'd heard
for stocking the caboose? I think I have seen that in HO brass, but nothing in O...
Malcolm, you seem to have an inexhaustible supply of sow's ears you're turning into purses there son. Well done!
Always love your stuff Brother L, it's the best!
Wow! Some more great work in styrene. I always enjoy your posts of your latest project. Thanks for sharing them with us, Malcolm.
with alittle more braceing on the ends I'm surprised Pennsy didn't copy it that's a sweet caboose
Beautiful work Brother Love. Thanks for sharing the photos.
