Good evening all, I know this has been done many times before, but I'm changing it up a little. I'm doing this for a very nice forum member and I must say I'm really enjoying this build. So far I have about 17 hours in it still a long way to go, but who cares. I've seen them built with frosted glass and no interiors. I'm using clear glass and constructing interiors for the two wings and the main building. I also constructed my own front stairs, so there's no seems. I'm trying to have the least amount of seems as possible, so far it's working out great. Enjoy.

Thanks, Alex

P.S. Nothing is sanded or glued yet.

OMG! I was just thinking about this and tonight I see you post this!

You just made my day!

I am definately going to attempt it, as my upper level will be Penn Station, and my lower level already has the old Grand Central Depot of 1879-1910 about 25% done from 2 kitbashed MTH Engine sheds.

How many banks do I need?

Fantastic.  I plan to shamelessly copy your example for my layout.

I did something similar years ago in N scale, taking several bank building kits - can't remember whose, and making a scale model of this station.  It was a noble looking building when done, but it went out with the rest of layout about 7 years ago.

Really nice.

Thanks to all of you guys.

Dennis S and AMC Dave I will keep progress photo's coming until complete

John, I love doing these type of projects, It's in my blood.

Thanks Peter, Don, and Tom.

Lee please copy it, that's what so great about this forum. We share idea's with each other. If you need more info just let me know. When your done please post photo's.

Joe, if you have any photo's of that build, lets see them.

Thanks again to all. Alex

Alex - This was a project I intended to do before TrainWorx came out with their Chicago Union Station. I never get tired of seeing different versions of big city passenger terminals. With your talent, I expect it will turn out really well and I am anxious to see the results.

Thanks for sharing.

Alex....Just got back from the TW Design event and am catching up on the forum....Sorry I didn't make a comment sooner my friend.  This is a very nice project and it is looking great.  You are a very talented guy and again the Mid America 3-Railers are proud to have you aboard!

Thanks so much Alex....great work!

Alan

Alex,
That's very nice work.  I like what you have done so far.  I built this smaller station out of 3 mth banks and some other kit parts about five years ago.  I think i actually used 4 banks, but only because i messed up so much along the way.  Here it is after it was newly built, and the last pic is on the layout.  I look forward to seeing your finished station.

Nick
