Just installed the Cruise Commander M into my K line RS3, got to love the low speed crawl! LOL!

That's impressive, especially considering how fast K-line diesels usually are.
The bonus is, it's an easy upgrade.
RSJB18 it is just as slow on the downgrade as it is on that upgrade, well worth the time and money spent!
gunrunnerjohn very easy! Plug in replacement for the most part, only had to solder one wire.

I'm intrigued......
Please tell me more, I have a bunch of Kline diesels that I'd happily upgrade.

Norton that's a lot of smoke for a diesel!
RSJB18 - Make sure your K line has TMCC and railsounds already. It's really is easy, unplug motors and power wires from motor driver. Remove motor driver from heatsink, mount CCM to heatsink. Plug in motor and power wires. Depending on which motor driver/main board you have you either plug in serial data wire to CCM or solder one wire for serial data to main board. Program your new board, flip the switch to run and let the party start!
Darrel, Early Alcos were noted for the amount of smoke to could put out. There are videos out there that show that.
RSJB, ERR Cruise will maintain a constant speed regardless of load, to a point. Uphill, downhill, add more cars, go around curves and even places along the line where you have voltage drops. I have run trains on our club layout where a train running without cruise would slow far from the transformer where a cruise engine would maintain its speed.

Drop me a line, I can fix you up with the Cruise Commander M at a discount.
If the K-Line has the standard Lionel DCDR motor driver like below, it's a one solder joint drop-in replacement.

That's the exact board mine had, right down to the Rev B markings!
Yep, those are a piece of cake to upgrade.
