I hit the Red Hall first, followed by Orange, Brown, Purple, Black (if there is a layout there), White, Silver and Blue.  After that, I sometimes pay repeat visits to many of the halls.  On Friday, I hit them in this order: Orange, Brown, Purple, Black (if there is a layout there), Red, White, Silver and Blue.  And again, will do repeat visits to many of the halls.

During an average York, I will walk between 10 and 20 miles.  York is more than just a train meet - it is also great exercise!  I've also noticed that York makes me stronger, kind of like Popeye after eating spinach, because at the end, I find it much easier to lift my wallet than when I started.

I think that a lot of people head to the Orange Hall first to see the manufacturers' booths to see what's new, and others to get to their favorite dealers so as not to miss any bargains.  Desirable items at good prices disappear fast at York.

I head to the Red Hall because there is a guy there who usually has stuff I want that I know from past experience will be gone a few hours into the meet.

I like to hit Orange Hall a little later, after the initial rush of madness, so that I can actually see things and talk to people at a more reasonable pace.

One slice of scrapple should make up for those calories expended, but just in case you are worried about it grab a pumpkin funnel cake outside the Silver hall and you will be good.

I only do scrapple when I'm in a rare masochistic mood (I'm more of a bacon addict anyway), but the pumpkin funnel cake is almost a given... I wonder if they have bacon bits to sprinkle on the funnel cakes?  Dang, now I'm hungry...
