I had previously posted about my LC+ GP-7 that froze up: a flywheel came off one motor and the lock screw from it wedged in the gears of one truck and locked it up. At the time, even though I removed that screw and re-assembled the flywheel, etc., the wheels stayed locked. I went ahead a just ordered another loco, I liked it so much.
I spent the afternoon working on the broken one- what did I have to loose. So and totally disassembled the truck. I found nothing caught in the gears. I put it back together. The wheels turned. I re-assembled the loco, and it runs perfectly now.
I had gone ahead and bought a second GP-7, I like this loco so much, so now I have this pair. I can't say enough good about LC+. This model is scale size (or very close to it), has good smoke and lights, good sound if not quite up to Legacy quality, and pulls well: I think the two of these, with their four motors and heavy weight, could probably pull the earth off its axis.
And of course, they run so slowly, so smoothly, and have such good control. They stay in lockstep, even when not coupled as here. I've got the smoke on, although it is a bit hard to see in the video.
The pair of them cost me only about $525, counting shipping. I think LC+ is maybe the best bargain in O-gauge.
