I have the 48870 and 48871 Erie and Great Northern box cars, I really like these, they just add so much to your enjoyment to running your trains. Question: Do these have some sort of crew talk, don't see anything in the instructions they provide. Chuff, Whistle and Bell all work and sound great. I am using a Modern ZW that has the bell button and whistle switch built in.

Just press the whistle for one short toot to activate a crew talk message!

Yup, got it to work, was thinking of a REA car for the passenger train in place of the Erie box car. When both are running, each has its own whistle sound, very unique...What a hobby...

The REA boxcar is the 1993 NASG car 6-48481. It does not have the 4 screw chassis. I used 1/4" square plastic rods and glued them in the corners. Using the chassis as a guide, drill the holes for the screws.
