Here is another photo taken at the NYCMTA Assn Mass Transit Modelers Show at Parsippany (Troy Hills)  New Jersey, on Nov. 3rd, 2018,  of two of the O-SCALE Market BUDD EL Car Body Shells (unfinished as would  look when bought) -- for those SERIOUSLY interested --- and these body shells come complete with floor and undertbody, truck frames (2)  and ------interiors for small extra cost.     These models  must be finished up to final completion....  Regards - Joe F

About a dozen or so years ago I was in search of Septa Regional Rail Silverliner cars. I came across Philly’s own IHP company. They started out with just making the shells. The cost was about $250 and there were few takers and they abandoned the O scale project. 

Now they are making them along with the almond joy El cars and the Kawasaki street cars in the smaller gauges. Here’s the link if you’d like to check them out.

Also, around the early 2000’s the Alfred Capella hobby shop near 3rd & Market had made a few 3 Rail O Gauge motorized Kawasaki street cars for sale in their shop for about $400.  I came across them by accident when I saw their sign after having dinner at Bookbinders. 

Of course, when I went back to buy one a month later they were sold out. I’ve never seen them for sale anywhere since.

Sorry , I'm confused . There never was a trackless trolley on Roosevelt Blvd.  Which is where the Boulevard dance was located . Maybe you took the Route 66 trolley ,which was trackless , from the Frankford /Pratt station up to Cottman Ave . and then transfered to the route that went from Cottman/Frankford to Cottman /Boulevard then walked the two blocks to the dance ? Sorry , I do not remember just what route number that is .

I think that was the Y route, now called 70.   I could be wrong, years since I took that bus to school 

He may be thinking of the Concord on Frankford Ave the 75 trackless stopped right in front of it. They had dances on Sunday nights.

I used to roller skate at the Concord.  

Grew up in Oxford Circle… Took the 59 trackless on Castor Ave. to Margaret El Station and then to town. It wasn't until I was living in West Oak Lane and going to grad school at Temple that I took the Broad Street on a regular basis. Although my cousin (who lived on Broad Street in Logan) and I would take the Broad Street downtown during Christmas holidays to see the train displays at the big department stores. Those were the days when two kids 13 and 12 could go by themselves to Center City without a chaperone. I would buy all kinds of cool "distressed" train things on the sale tables after Christmas (like a Santa Fe B unit without a fixed coupler for 5 bucks).
