To mark the 150th anniversary of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln The Henry Ford in Dearborn Michigan will be opening its doors to the public, free of charge this Wednesday, April 15th.  They will be showing various artifacts related to Lincoln and having q/a sessions throughout the day regarding Lincoln.

Detroit Free Press article related.

I thought it worth posting here for anyone that hasn't been to the museum and may want to take the opportunity to have a look at some of the train related things they have to show.  highlights include the 1601 Allegheny, a full size replica of the DeWitt Clinton and Stephenson's Rocket, and the 4-4-0 "President" from 1858.

If I'm not mistaken this is also opening day for the village, and there is plenty more fun with trains there.

If you live in the Detroit area and have never been to the museum this is a great chance to see what you're missing.  Just don't be surprised if you end up buying a membership on your way out.  I've probably been on close to 100 visits and have yet to see everything.
