I am jealous!

1. I would love to come play....

2. I am about 5-6 years short of retirement.....

Have fun.......and. would love to see more pics of the layout......in my view, scale modelers have always provided a valuable resource and service.  They give me ideas for real-to-life vignettes that I like to try to incorporate within my high rail pike.

Thanks jpv69.

It's 8mX8m or just over 26'X26'.

Enough work for 3-4 operators I prefer 4.

We spend all day (8 hours) running every Friday, we do have lunch and coffee breaks (cold drinks in the long summer!)West Australia has long summers.

We are dinosour's still run our trains on DC and no sound but we do have a lot of fun.

Fantastic layout looks like a lot of fun!! I have a lot of appliances to dodge, but your layout gives me ideas for my 25ftx40+ft basement area.

Keep the photos coming as you are able, please. It provides wonderful relaxation from a hectic day.

Thanks again,

Roo,

Great layout sir, wish I had that kind of space available to engineer something like you have, that is sure a serious layout.  Don't really know what you mean about the time and giving you something to do, now that I am retired I can not believe I actually had the time to work every day, and still do all the things in life I like to do.  If you guys like to Fly Fish or Grouse Hunt with your gun dogs, I have a place in Potter/Tioga here in Pa, you guys are more than welcome to come participate, especially if you are Military Veterans, current active duty military, or Policemen/Firemen.  Some day I really would like to construct a ceiling type layout in our Log Cabin, just can't find the time to even start working on it.

Come spend some time with us in the back woods and use some of that free retirement time you have earned and enjoy yourself even more.

Roo,

I kind of figured you were from my era and had fought the same South East Asia war. That is a way cool #24 US Army Pusher Engine, simply fantastic stuff!  The rest of the military layout is great also, especially the Command Hut with the Jeep parked outside, and the Green Beret soldier beside the WWII pick up truck.  Great layout!

Thanks Matt and I know who you are we have both been around a long time.

It's almost thirty years for me and O scale and the present layout has been developing for nearly twenty years and I am still adding to it!

The latest is a foundry which is still under construction but has been entered into the operation plan as all the trackwork and wiring is finished all it needs is some scenary to be finished including the crane.

Thanks.

Dave:

I have always wanted a military base on the layout and when Tamiya brought out their 1/48 scale US Army vehicles that got me going.

The base is actually undergoing some changes and is again under construction no more track, it already has numerous sidings just mainly a tidy up it still remains fully operational for our Friday sessions.

I just snapped a couple of photos around the base sorry not good quality.

SJVRR.

Thanks for that.

Keep in mind it has taken twenty years to get that far for a bumbling modeller, I'm nothing special. Most of my pocket money has gone into this and when I die it will be worth nothing it's all plastic fantastic fantasy! (but it runs good and we have a lot of fun with it) It's not a problem as I've never seen it as an investment just an interest the wife will be well looked after.

I'm disappearing soon for a few weeks, time to get away to some solitude in the bush with the trees and the Kangaroos when I come back I'll probably have to start a new thread. It's a busy forum, blink once and your thread goes way down the list never to be found again! Ha, Ha.

No layout photos today been working in the workshop making things, nothing special just a few jigs to make life easier for an old coot like me.

Take Care.

Roo.
