For those of you who stay through Saturday, what do you do for Friday evening dinner? I know there is a LOTS dinner. What do people generally do? I may be staying through Saturday (I want to see how the Public Days turn out).

I'm game Peter, what did you have in mind?
I like to go to Coombs on Friday, the food is great and sometimes you'll see a celebrity. The last time I was there I saw Ed Boyle!. It does get crowded sometimes.
Dave,
You poor devil. Hope that did not louse up your dinner :-)
You are right, Coombs is a great place for a good meal.
Ed Boyle
EZMike and I would like to get together with the group !
Is Ed Boyle buying?

If Ed is buying, I'm in! Actually, with all the work I've put into your locomotive lately, I think I'll let you buy.
I've known Ed to be very generous with picking up the tab for dinner. He'll even let you super size it if you want!
RSVP'd for LOTS Dinner. Went last year and met some neighbors I hadn't seen in years! Good time.
So . . . . . Where are we going?
John,
In honor of the Class A whistle, which worked for me, I'll buy you something to wet your whistle.
Not sure.....let's think about it.....

I don't belong to LOTS, so I figure I'm not welcome there.
Might be a good reason to stay late and ride home after dinner. Once you guys figure it out let us know
I would be interested.
Where is LOTS having their's? , not that i'm a member.
The original AOL online group goes to Logan's on Friday night.

How come I was never invited to that? I thought you were my friend Ted!
Other than the chains, I don't know of any place to go (other than the Atland House which is about 10-12 miles west of the Fairgrounds on the way to Gettysburg). Someone pick a decent place in town. Let's see who wants to join us. We can finalize around 3PM after the Forum meeting on Friday.

Peter;
Try Logan's Steak House. The food there is always good and so is the service.
I'm craving prime rib. Coombs has lots of empty tables but says ALL of them are reserved. Guess they don't care for railroad tshirt & cap. They'll let anybody sit at the bar.
It just didn't materialize the way I want.......I guess I'm a better breakfast planner. If I do this again, I will be sure to start earlier, solicit advice and then check the menus and venues, decide on one before York and make a reservation.

Prime rib at Coombs was delish. Most of the tables filled by older TCA crowd.
Stopped by Logans and it's Deadsville.
As Ted said above ... Logan's is good for us on Friday nights.
I just hit up the Mexican place next to my crappy hotel lol. I did this after the ice cream social thing. I ended up meeting a father and son who both live within an hour of me. Hopefully next time we can get something set up.
