My first modeling project in many years, and first O gauge repaint and decal effort.

This Frisco wooden caboose is a K-Line product, repainted, decals and a couple details.

Decals are Micro Scale #48-333, smoke pipe is Grandt Line 143.  Some Evergreen wooden scribed car siding on the end platforms, to cover the simulated metal grating, and make the car look more "woody".  This is not an exact model of the prototype, but close enough.

The last photo is for fun--comparison with this and an HO Hallmark brass model from 1969.  HO is now too small and fussy for old eyes and fingers.

I just stumbled across this short thread. Nice repaint - repurpose into a Frisco caboose !!!!!
Frisco cabooses are scarce as hens teeth in O Scale - especially ones that are Well Done.
I’ve trolled for one for years and recently Finally Scored one !!! I’m so pleased - a very nice Atlas model.  It’s not wood but it’s Frisco !!!!

Very nice job on the O gauge car. I think it looks much better than the HO version.

Quite Nice !!!  I’d love to find one of these too !!!

I do not know how long this is going to take me to complete, but I have a couple of CA-1’s to be redone thusly:

This caboose was long-gone before I ever marked up in Quanah, and I had never seen a photo of it until the #33 issue of Railroads & Trains of the Past came out.  I will keep one of the models.  The other one will probably come with me to next years Grapevine Train-A-Palooza along with a few of my excess GP7’s and F7’s.

To return to the OP, very nice work.

Thank you, TrainBub, for the "heads up" regarding the new offering.  However, see this thread:

Oh, and by the way:

There is a lot to say about this conversion with one other still unfinished...maybe later.

For anyone hoping to repaint one of these models:
