"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.

Post your non-O scale stuff here!

Yep, PIKO. I have several of them and they are affordable and come with a compact control unit that is about the size of a garage door opener. Simple, but they are well made and work well.

Hi Allan:

I have a friend that owns a butcher shop. He has a garden layout running inside the his shop going around at ceiling level. He nows sends the electrical current through the track. The problem is keeping the track clean. He would like to try a battery powered locomotive.

What type of batteries are you using and how long is the run time?

Thanks: Gary from Michigan 🚂

Using rechargeable AAAs. I have a Powerowl 16-bay charger (about $27 from Amazon) that holds 16 batteries (AA or AAA) for charging. I have not really determined how long a locomotive will run on one set of batteries, but I usually just run a single locomotive for about 30-40 minutes or so without loss of power.
