Every once in a while I am speechless. Many of you know that is a good thing.

In my quest to collect scale GG-1's in all of the various paint schemes I came across this on Oy Vay . . .

For a nice Jewish boy from the Bronx . . . . perfect.

It's not Liberace's GG-1, but it might well have been !!!

I love it. Don't miss Eliot dressed as Santa running the locomotive and the number boards !

I can just imagine Pennsy fans racking the slide on their 12 gauges . . . .

Scrappy

All in fun . . .

All in fun . . .

I try to remember that the Polar Express never existed either . . . even in our imaginations, until someone who conceived of a magical connection between trains and the joys of the Holiday season made it so. The GG-1's I have previously collected were the best, scale GG-1's I could find. Knowing the GG-1 is an icon among locomotives makes this Christmas version special for me. I try to keep the scale me and the frivolous me separate. Someone must have envisioned a special connection between the Holidays and trains to create this locomotive.

"Be there a rivet counter with soul so deep, he laughs not at the smile of a child as the locomotive circles the tree?"

And I thought that the Daylight Cab-forward guys were torqued up.

I do not mind fantasy if it is tasteful, I have few, DD35 PRR. Transylvania, but GG1s in pink, yellow, Red what ever that was is dang un-American and needs to be stamped out in all four corners of the earth! It was bad enough when they painted those beauties black and put those god awful worms on them!

Now I have said my piece on this matter and I am finished with it! so.

You all have a great and safe 4th of July.

John, buddy! Don't hold back, tell us how you really feel! I really understand. My reaction was the same to a UP Grey Hound paint job on a N&W J!
