GGD "Light weight finish sets"

I talked to Scott Mann about them at York. Its a couple cars from the Columbian set, and I think some cars from the newly announced Broadway Ltd. set, to add to the sleepers and coaches and make up a complete train.

 

What GGD is referring to as the "finish set" is a 4 car offering including;

combine, diner, boat tail observation, and 18 roomette sleeper.

 

The combine, diner, and observation will be copies of these cars from the forthcoming B&O Columbian set B. The prototypes were built by Pullman Standard and numerous railroads used reasonably similar cars.

 

The roomette sleeper will be a copy of that car from the 1938 PRR Broadway Limited. Many roads had various variations of roomette sleepers including 17, 18, and 22 roomette cars.

 

Production will probably be late 2003.
