GM Futureliner -- great companion to Train of Tomorrow

That's wild.  I never knew about this, either.  Thank you.

I was at the Washington Auto Show on Monday. Here is the Futureliner on display. 

The only model I know of was a 1:64 model by Norev, who I understand is out of business.

Apologies for not searching the forum first!  And it was so recent too.  Oh well.

I wonder if there is a model car maker you can lobby to make models.  Kind of like 3rd Rail is for trains.   Because I bet there are enough people interested in this to make it worth their while.  Maybe they force people to buy 12 of them to make the complete parade.  I'd be OK with that.

If you have access to the Velocity channel on cable (or YouTube) two episodes of *****in' Rides were devoted to rebuilding a Futureliner.  I'm a fan of the show anyway but these episodes were interesting and they returned what might have been so much scrap to what it looked like when GM rolled them out.

It would be a wonderful companion piece if someone would make it. That will be the challenge.

A couple of years back, one of these were auctioned off at BJ's in Arizona for 7 figures.  It was a classic barn yarn, that a guy out of Montreal found and restored. He had no idea the vehicle would sell for as much as it did.  Pretty neat styling for the time.

One just sold a couple of weeks ago at either Mecum or Barrett-Jackson, not sure which, for $4,000,000.
