It's been so long since I pre-ordered one of these, I don't remember what they are called. I believe these were done in 1:43 scale and there were 3 versions. They were buses with sides that opened like awnings, with themes promoting GM's technical advances. I think they were to be delivered in July, 2015. I'm pretty sure I ordered one from the same place J Daddy ordered his from, then again, this whole thing could be an LSD flashback. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Thanks,

Rich

Rich,

I hope that this isn't misleading but I have read elsewhere that the delivery date is now pushed back to mid-December. Is this what you are after? There was more than one version:

I thought about getting one when the 3rd Rail GM TofT came out but decided to pass. No way back now as I understand that they are sold out.

I saw one on tv some months back, and you are right about the size, they were extremely large, and from what I remember they were larger than the Old Greyhound Scenacruisers that I remember seeing when I was young in the 50's

There was one of the "Hot Rod Shops" in Salt Lake City, that did a full restoration on one of the GM originals. I can't remember the name of the guys tv show, his name is Dave Kendig, you folks might have seen the series on this bus.

I'd like to get one for our club layout, and I'll try the Die-cast direct mentioned above, and thanks.........................................Brandy!

Hancock52, Thanks for posting the picture, yes that is it! Its okay if they got pushed back to December, better than cancelled! 95% of my diecast is painstakingly 1:43, very few 1:48 (ironically hard to find). 1:50 does not look right (to me) with my 1:48 trains where the 1:43 do. You are right Tom, maybe too large for some folks. I guess different strokes....

Saw one many years ago with the operating American Crossroads in it. Being 33 feet long it is over 8" long in 1/48 so it should be pretty big in 1/43 if done accurately.

I have one on pre-order, and do not believe that they have yet been delivered.

I did get a notice that the Greenlight Collectables 1:64 version is now in stock.  It doesn't open and have the interior detail, but at $25 a pop, I could buy six of them for the price of a single 1:43 model and put them at the back of the layout for some forced perspective!
