I know this breaks with the S gauge focus of this forum, but I would guess nearly all of us have a soft spot for getting classic Flyer engines running well again regards less of gauge. I have an AF 31005 Hudson ready again for prime time except it needs new rear pulmor bands. Does anyone know of a good AF HO parts supplier I can contact to buy them from? Thanks.

This was just posted today by Dale Smith who moderates the Yahoo HO board:
David,
I am cross posting this message to the Gilberthotrains group, which I moderate. Hopefully some of the members there will have something to add. Your membership has been approved, so welcome. You might want to check some of the archives of that group for discussions of parts availability. Both Tom Seccia and Doug Peck carry many HO parts items. Bob Giardina has some items also. I might also mention Bruce Gripke, a Gilbert HO enthusiast in Southern California, who carries a lot of HO parts too. He can be reached by phone at 661 822-6656. Unfortunately, there are some things that are very hard or next to impossible to obtain, such as Alco handrails and coupler springs.
I know that Tom and Doug both have many fans.

The 31005 just used a simple Varney traction band. Any HO band from modern production will suffice. Check Walthers, they usually have a huge selection.

Thanks. Bruce helped me with information about Marklin (7151 and 7152) and Stewart (512) bands that work really well too. Seems we have several options - - original, reproductions of the original, and alternative manufacturers.
