Hello everyone,

My dad has a GP9 Canadian MTh engine that has a drive wheel that is not pressed on the axial shift any more. Is there anyone out there that knows where to get a drive for a MTH 20-20204-21 diesel. I tried looking on MTHs new web site for this wheel but they say that they do not have a schematic listed yet for this engine yet. I believe that this can be an easy fix because the wheel is floating bake and forth the middle engine frame and the outer side frame and I thick it is shorting put the track

Contact MTH parts directly. Most items aren't listed and most diagrams are not up yet. I had an issue recently and they were able to help even though not much for my loco was listed on the site, to include the items I needed.

The wheel is neutral and so are the sideframes and the truck block. There is no way a loose wheel is going to cause a short because it can't physically make contact with the center rail if it is still floating between the sideframe and truck block, unless the whole truck is moving enough for it to contact the center rail. I still can't see it moving that much with small tolerances between those three parts.

The drive wheel is floating on the axial shaft enough to touch the side frame of the truck and then free floats up against the housing that holds the center rail pickups' am not sure that this is creating a short on my dads layout or if it was a number of other problems he was having. I do know that there is a lot of axial play that is making the gears almost not mess together on the drive side of the truck. I will try contacting MTH on Monday and see if they can hook me up with a drive wheel.
