I have a B&O GP9 that I bought new in 1999.  Sounds are okay but I wish they were much better.  Are there any upgrades I can do to get better sounds and sound quality?  Any upgrades I can do other than sound?

Has a pullmore motor, tmcc, electrocouplers, magnatraction, and railsounds.

I been out of the hobby for quite some time so I'm eager to see what's out there and people's thoughts

I was thinking maybe like an upgrade to railsounds 5.0 or something along those lines.  Currently it has 4 rpm levels- 8 would be nice.  The sounds also are "crackly" and it seems you can hear them "looping".  Maybe upgrade to legacy kit?   wouldn't mind trying a new fat boy speaker though.  Any recommendations where to purchase?

Well I talked to Electric railroad and Ken couldn't tell me much about the kit sounds nor could he let me listen to them.  I aksed how many rpm levels there were and he had no idea.  I would think the company would have a link or video to let customers listen to the power before they purchase.  In addition I called Lionel customer service hoping to get some info on railsounds 5.0 and that got me no where as she had no idea what I was talking about and didn't seem to want to help anyway.

Also the sound level are different on some sound sets when used on AC motors versus DC motors. Don't ask why.
