Does anybody know when graffiti started becoming common on railroad cars. I fully understand this is a toy and I can do whatever I want to but the layout is 1950's give or take and I wouldn't want the graffiti to look totally out of place if and when I start weathering rolling stock.

This kind of "graffiti" was common on railcars in earlier years before the modern plague of unsightly "tagging" with spray cans.

Thanks Ace..pretty cool. I like the look of spray can graffiti but if it's inappropriate for the time period I'll do what you showed me.
