I am having an issue with my Christmas MTH train. Last year I picked up a RailKing 70-2117-1 brand new with Proto-Sounds 3.0. I also added the DCS explorer so it could be run via my IPhone. It worked great last year and also for the last couple of weeks this year.
Last night I went to run the train, I normally run it at about 10 mph (scale miles) and it just took off at full speed. It was showing 5mph on the IPhone but going as fast as it could. When I went to stop it came to a very fast stop and derailing a couple of cars.
I did a factory reset through the IPhone app and using a paperclip I reset the DCS Explorer, then rebooted but still have the same issues.
After sleeping on it overnight I hooked it up to my Z4000 this morning and did a reset it a couple of times. Took it back to the Christmas tree and no change still goes as fast as it can.
I know this is a G scale but I would think that the PS-3 would be the same as other MTH items. I do have 15 MTH O scale engines both running PS-2 and PS-3 so I am a little familiar with the system.
