Hello, I just tried to hook up my TIU,after about 1 month of it being disconnected from my new, developing layout.I just got a 3 volt SD-90 from a reliable source ,so I tried running in DCS mode again.

I keep getting the same "Engine not on Track" message again and again. The Engine lights up and makes sound and smokes when placed on the track, and also makes sounds after track power is removed.

After 2 hours of trying different wires,I just gave up.

Now even the 1 Hudson Steamer I had going will not be recognized by the system, since I deleted it,thinking that might help somehow.???

I know DCS is great, but I hope things get better after I get this thing all setup permanently .My friend who sold me the SD-90 told me he did a factory reset on it.Any help will be greatly appreciated .

Kenney,

If the engines are coming on as soon as track power is applied, I'd suggest that you have the wires from the TIU output to the track reversed, or the DCS signal on the  TIU channel is off.

Make certain that the TIU's red output terminal is connected to the center rail and the TIU's black terminal is connected to an outside rail.

Make sure that the DCS signal is turned one for all channels: Menu/System/DCS Setup and press the AON soft key.

Either of the above two items being incorrect will yield exactly the symptoms that you're experiencing.
