TCA Southern DIVISION is building a layout at the Children's Museum in Jensen Beach,FL. Our motive is 10 Williams engines. Except for a Budd car all the engines have an electronic reverse that causes the engine to always start in the forward direction which is great. If the engine loses power for 5 or 10 seconds, depending on the engine, it again starts in the forward direction. Our track loops are controlled by Dallee timers operated by a push button pushed by the children. So far so good. The problem would if the train stops and a child pushes the button again the train will shift to neutral and another button push will send the train in reverse causing all sorts of problems. I have not yet taken the engines apart but plan to next week. So my question is: is there any way to lock these engines in the forward direction or will I have to disable the electronic board.
Is this even the correct forum to ask the question?
Thanks
