My boys and I are working on our first setup using SCARM.  We found an existing design we liked, and modified it to fit our space.  We pretty much have a majority of the Fastrack the design calls for.  The only problem is that it calls for almost 20 1 3/4 or 1 3/8 pieces...which are breaking the bank to get.   Would someone who knows SCARM well take a shot a modifying this to get rid of all of the little pieces required?  Is that possible?

Much thanks in advance--SCARM file should be attached.

Hate to say it but the little pieces are part of the track systems geometry. The other problem is that you are taking a plan that was drawn in a different track system and modifying it.  Track plans do not transfer piece for piece.

Your best option to eliminate all the little money pits is to try to draw a new plan piece by piece following a variation of what you want. This way you will be able to modify things as you go along to eliminate the smalls.

At our club, part of the layout is built with fast-track with the added problem of isolating tracks for electrical sectioning. Talk about strange connectors and small pieces.

Our new layout is being built with Ross track and switches precisely to avoid these issues.  More on that one as it develops.

Here is a simplified one. I changed the shape of the connection between the inner and outer oval to simply the parts, it is only marginally narrower, a figure eight can be substituted for the inner oval. (allowing for a reverse loop if so desired) You can change it if it does not fit or look right at a latter date, I have done that numerous times myself as budget allowed. I hope this helps, i left out the terminal piece, but it and a few 10 inch pieces can be used to add some width on the if it was a map north south line
