Looking for guidance on indoor outdoor carpet placement for layout

I will have a bridge in the center that elevates to about 5 1/2 inches over 24 inches both sides of bridge, (I'm using the woodland scenic incline kits modified to > 4% grade).

Do I cover the rise and cut the indoor outdoor around the inclines?

Or do I lay carpet flat and make a separate add on pieces? Im concerned with how the seam will look with the add on pieces. The carpet flat and add on seems easier. Im using o gauge tubular (never again) with gray foam roadbed and plan on light ballasting.

Please let me know your thoughts.

I will/have contributed when I know something

Thank You and Merry Christmas

I think any seams could be readily hidden/disguised with well-placed trees, foliage, loose rocks or turf.

I might consider doing neither and instead, covering the inclines with plaster, paper maiche or a product like Woodland Scenics plaster sheets and then painting them to look like rock formations. You could also look at Scenic Express pre-made wood and stone walls to cover the sides of the inclines and just lay I/O carpet on the top surface.

Sounds like a plan - looking forward to seeing the end result.

Another idea would be to use a graduated trestle set leading up to and down from the bridge, like the MTH one, which would eliminate the whole issue.

In some respects, I like that idea better because it frees up the area underneath the trestles for more trackage, buildings, structures or whatever lese you might put there.

Happy Holidays.
