Helpers and pushers | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Has anyone used engines in mid consist or as an end of consist pusher? Is this possible in the 1/48 world? I haven't tried it, but would be interested in past experiences. I have been giving this some thought, but I want to get some input before I do something I might regret.

I've done it in command mode with my TMCC locomotives - 2 on the head end and one pushing from the tail end. All you have to do is make sure all locomotives are the same type (TMCCs with TMCCs and LEGACIES with LEGACIES) and assign them the same TRAIN ID.

I'm not sure how it works with ProtoSound locomotives but I know it can be done.

You betcha! There's one lead locomotive and one helper in the middle of this 115 car consist.
