Thanks Will!
I am really impressed with your groundscaping. A lot of effort I'm sure but very effective result.
This is a nice layout! I am curious about the size. Is there a track plan post? I'm planning a basement layout and am interested in the design.
Looks great.
Very nice work! Just a question: How did you make and color your streets?

Thanks NS for sharing.
Very nice layout. Thanks for sharing,

When you're ready to go a further with your track try a little light weathering with some rattle can gray and brown. Use a sheet of stiff cardboard in one hand to mask different areas while you spray and you'll be pleased with what you can get. Come back quickly and wipe the surface of the rails.
Really nice work, I hope my future lay-out will look so good.
Fantastic pics of a great layout...........Paul

Thanks Hoppy,
To answer your question, the roads on the right side of the layout is made from 1/2" foam board, it's actually perfect to mate up with the gas station, car wash and McDonald's. The police station and the rest of the building's are put on scrap pieces of foam core board, to get the curb appeal.
The roads on the left are a combination of foam board again and black foam core board. The foam core board actually matches right up with the rails if ya trim a little off the back. I just painted the foam with flat black craft paint from Walmart.
I hope that helps, if ya have any other questions I'll be happy to answer them.

Thanks for the advice, I'm not quite sure of the technique but I definitely plan to weather the track and that method sounds great I'll have to look that up. Lol

The layout is roughly 40 by 16 and as far as a track plan I don't have it completed yet due to I'm adding some more track but I will be sure to post it when I am done.
