Hi Guys - I was wondering how many guys model/collect these 3 roads in the first generation diesel era ? If you do more than one of these please let me know which ones . I'm trying to advance a project that one of the importers has given up on . Hoping to prove him wrong .

          Thanks,

Sorry, didn't realize I was in the 2 rail section, I got here from the  "recent post section".

That said I'm moving to 2 rail, have some and am waiting for delivery of a couple of new 2 rail engines.  I expect the new engines will sink the hook.

I am familiar with GPM and PBL and the Alco S-2/4 is one of my favorite switchers(there was one in the 3 rail picture I had up earlier), so it does sound very interesting.

Well , I've never done anything like this before , but I can't let this one go . Some of you may be aware that Jimmy Booth of Glacier Park Models ( and PBL in Sn3 ) has done the research on the Alco S-2/4 switchers . Due to his perceived lack of interest from those he has mentioned it to he isn't going to do them . With some badgering he gave me the OK to try and scrounge up the necessary interest to at least do these 3 big roads . There would be 2 SF and SP schemes and 1 UP . I'm going to hope for 2 road numbers in each scheme . I have already plead my case to include a couple big eastern roads ( thought PRR and NYC ) as well as my beloved New Haven , but this isn't going to happen - unless maybe if there was off the charts interest . These 3 roads are going to need to total 200 units for production to go forward . For anyone not familiar with Jimmy's work with GPM or PBL his models are among the best brass models ever done . He does his research and stands behind what he makes . Over the following weeks I'll be posting on various forums and specific road related interest sites . Once I can put together  significant interest some kind of reservation plan can be put together with GPM . I think at this point I'd ask guys to not drive Jimmy crazy because he seems fairly set about where this is going - it's up to me to convince him otherwise . I'd be happy to answer any questions that I can at this point . Probably best to address them to me at k27bry@yahoo.com  I do work for a living and get to the e-mail when I can - please note I'm in CT so those on the west coast where much of the interest is likely to come from might see an overnight delay in me answering .

Hey Guys - I hope I can flesh out some details sometime next week - in the meantime I might add these notes ; the models will have correct road specific details - these won't be generic models painted to fit a certain road and also there will be a P48 option for those interested . Not sure at this point if this is going to be a factory install or an add -on kit like Jimmy does on his O scale SP steam projects . When I have more info I'll post it .

          Thanks for your interest,

          Bryan
