Not sure if you can see it 100% of the time. When mine get low, BAT displays on my screen. When they are fully charged, is goes away.

The battery indication on the remote is for the remote batteries.
thanks John i learned a new thing today.
did you mail the boards and is there a tracking number?
Thanks John for all your help, let me know when there a train meet for your club would love to attend
Alan
Boards are on the way, you should have gotten a USPS email with the tracking.
You can use the INFO menu item to view the battery's condition as OK, LOW or HI:
System/Menu/Advanced/Info
This and a whole lot more is all in MTH’s “The DCS O Gauge Companion 2nd Edition", available for purchase as an eBook or a printed book at MTH's web store!

This refers to an engine stored in the remote i believe.
Thanks John have not seen the email yet but maybe it will show up tomorrow.!
Thanks Alan
Alan,
I had Bill (WillyGee) upgrade my DCS hand held remotes to fully rechargeable, fully eliminating any need to know exactly when the batteries start to get low. It was the best move I ever made for my DCS hand held units. I simply put one on the charger and use the other for some time, then switch their places. Always keeping my hand held remote control fully charged, works like a charm.
