Sometimes the best way to hide something is to focus attention on it. I have a hole in my backdrop that leads into the next room (eventually). I decided to build a building around the hole.

The lighting looks great in the dark, but I couldn't get a good picture because the camera compensates and overexposes. The lighting in not anywhere near as bright as it look in the "night" picture.

Of course I still need to ballast the track and do some scenery around the loading docks.

A would be interested in seeing how others on the forum have dealt with a hole through the backdrop.

Matt, that is really impressive.  I particularly like the way you continued the brick building back into the wall along the curve in the track… it makes it so three-dimensional.  That and the lighting in the building, it's very attractive.  I had a similar through-the-wall situation and I just put a tunnel portal on it; yours is far more creative.  Thanks for sharing the photos!
