What is all required to connect a Lionel TMCC system to a single loop of fastrack? I have a 135 brick already. I would like to know what else I need. I won't need the Legacy system. I have 2 TMCC locomotives.

Assuming you have a TMCC System, base and Cab1, you need a properly grounded outlet to plug the command base into and 1 wire from the command base to the outside rail (common) of the track.  You're done.  Don't forget the 4 AA batteries for the remote.

Power strips are fine for the command base as long as they don't interfere with the ground connection.  The connection from the 3 prong wall wart power supply that comes with the command base is vital to proper operation.  TMCC uses the house ground wiring for half of the TMCC signal and the common track connection for the other half.

I think you may want additional circuit breaker or fuse since the 135W brick is not the same built in protection as the 180W bricks. The TMCC lockon is one possible option. 6-34120. Otherwise, external 3rd party options like the Airpax breakers or even PSX-AC would be suitable. In addition, one could add TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor).

MARTYE  All I have right now is the brick. So you are saying that all I need is the comand base and the remote? Is there any other special cables I will need?

Well unless your brick hasn't been connected to the track before, Vernon's suggestion of a Direct Lock On is a good one. The Brick most likely has a Molex connector.  The Brick and the 1 wire from the command base will hook into it.

If you don't use the Direct Lockon an adapter cable maybe needed to get to bare wire.  Other than that a regular piece of hook up wire will work from the Command Base "U" to the fastrack outside rail.  Either use a small spade connector to connect it to the FasTrack end or solder it.

@paliden45 - Since you already have the 135W brick (6-12866) then IF, as you say, all you need is the Command Base and the Remote, to assist you the CB is 6-12911 and the Remote is 6-12868.  (Note: At one time Lionel sold these two components in a 2-pack set under product number 6-12969 and you still occasionally see these sets on the big 'e' auction site).

When I first got into Command Control I also needed a connecting cable, the product number for which was 6-14191 (I think?), but any local hobby shop could confirm the product number if you spoke to them.  Lastly, if you acquire a 'new' base and remote, FWIW I found the instructions that came with them very clear and concise (after all - it's not rocket science), or alternatively you could google them on the internet.

Good Luck with your TMCC system hook up and once it's done, I'm sure you'll have no regrets (I sure didn't).
