Actually Mitch, his caboose is a little different. Same principle as shown in your video though. But on his caboose the frame and the body are all one piece. The roof is the separate piece, instead of the frame.

It is the entire roof that comes off. Though it can be a pretty snug fit... you push upward on each side of the caboose roof overhang. You don't necessarily have to loosen the black delrin plastic caboose ends, but it will make it a little easier to have some leverage to push that caboose roof loose from the caboose body assembly.

Like I said, it's a snug fit and you have to work it upward from each side of the caboose overhang. The window glazing piece may also be so well attached to the roof, that it comes loose also.
