I know there would be hurdles to jump but wouldn't that be sharp and make a set of state cars in polar express colors....wow. I wonder if enough of us asked (similar to the Goliath) then perhaps this could be a wonderful Christmas item...just dreaming.

I would rather it be made in 400 Comet style cars but that’s just a preferences in size.
I would definitely be on board with this one.
Seems the license could be a problem as Lionel would have to get permission to use the PE on a product which is already licensed out to MTH to make. Not sure how that works.
But a tinplate O gauge would be cool.
I still think a tinplate O version would get them the most bang for the buck. I do both, but there are a lot of O tin guys who do not have std gauge.

I've toyed with the tinplate PE on and off for a few years now, be it Std or O-Gauge. I have the engine and cars prepped for paint. Matching the paint is one thing. The custom decal work is a whole different animal cost and design wise.
