How do I turn on the red light on front of Lionel Legacy MR S3?

I have the fantasy paint scheme Milwaukee Road S3 and finally had a chance to opened it, along with some other goodies that had been piling up. We enjoy the engine, but I can’t figure out how to turn on the red light on the front of the engine. Is there a trick to it?
