I may grow older but I will never grow up

Me neither! Age is just a number
--Greg
I agree.. We are all train nuts regardless of age!
Yup. My teenage daughter states that I look a 5 year old when I am playing....sounds good to me!
There may be snow on the mountain but there's fire in the furnace.
How many of us feel that electrons could used for a better purpose than talking about something over which we have no control?
I stopped counting a few years ago. I always have to do the math to figure out how old I am. Playing with trains keeps me young.
When I was a child, I had to grow up real quick. Now, I can catch up on what I missed!
Growing old, playing with my subway stuff and fooling with the real stuffa nd dabbling around old cool stuff, i got over it when i turned thirteen!
Age is a state of mind, not a number.
I am 66 going on 19...
I'm 66 but feel as good as i ever had. I can do anything I did when I was 26, just maybe a little slower and not as often. Have some fun now because it won't last forever.
I never think of my age unless I hurt.

Crawling around under a layout keeps me young. When I can't get up off of all fours then I'm in trouble.

Growing up....What fun is that????
MrMuffin celebrated his birthday this very day, thanks, and certainly agrees with the sentiments here.
I was thinking there should be a thread for two year old's.(just kidding)
I remember back in the 70's, when my grandparents, from back east, visited us.
I was in my early 20's, at the time; when, one day, out by our pool, my grandparents felt the need to show me... demonstrate... how well they could do push ups. The old I don't feel...
Boy, that was impressive.(not really)
I was an impressive looking young man in those days; and now, at nearly 58 - some of my former sheen has definitely warn off. I like to think of myself, now, as character actor... not as the leading man type, I once was.
Currently, I sport a fairly new beard, that is laced with white and grey hairs, which makes me look at least 10 years older. My wife will tell you that, but it's true.
My thinking on the matter is - it makes me look how I'm supposed to look...
and, at times, I think it adds a wee bit of character.
I've been gradually losing my hair, over years; but, a come-over or covering it up definitely isn't my thing. Again, I don't try to hide the fact that I'm aging; but, I don't think... boy this great getting older. I try to roll with life's punches...
Some of you might be thinking, hmmmm, I bet I could take Rick, now? NO, YOU PROBABLY COULDN'T! Not even with every appendage I have... tied behind my back.
Rick
Deep inside, I am always 7 years old. The age I was on that wonderful Christmas morning when I received my first train set.
I couldn't care less about age. I know I'll get older but I'll NEVER grow up!
I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. Guess I better hurry up. I'm almost as old as my wife.
You are as old as you feel, today I feel 100 but hey tomorrow I might feel 17

Had a crummy childhood when my mom remarried to a bad stepfather when I was 6 yearsold..Im reliving childhood again in a better part of my life.. Im 43 and I dont look my age neighter, get told I look like Im in my early to 30's and I dont act as a 40 years old guy,but I can feel the ackes and pains more..But heck I'd married to my wife who's is way youger then me..Age isnt but a stupied number..
Every time I buy a new train I feel like a kid again, So I guess I better just keep on buying. Age is just a number and a state of mind. As long as you are happy and feel good who cares how old you are.
I'm 21 with 23 years experience at being 21 (gotta be old enough to buy beer ).
Andy
Age is just a number. I'm still a kid!
I get up in the morning feeling like an 18 year old but it's hard to find one that early.
If your over 50 and didn't grow up, no point to start now.
I really don't care either. But,every once in a while the fact that I'm turning 60
"next time it comes around on the guitar" I think when the heck did that happen?
But I have been told it's never to late to have a happy childhood.
I work hard at retaining a mental age of 10. It's a much nicer world in which to live.
Just call me Peter Pan!
Well, frankly, I don't like the aches and pains and nearsightedness that comes with old age.
I do like the fact that, because now I don't think of women and sex every seven seconds (its more like every fourteen seconds) I have more time to think about trains.
But mostly, I just continue to do what I've done for decades, just channel my "inner three-year old."
Like Dave Allen said, its a much nicer world in which to live.
How old would you be if you did not know how old you were ??
I may grow older but I will never grow up
I agree, but when I do work like last week-end , I feel the age. ( I redo my balcony )
I think Indiana Jones said it best: It's not the years... It's the mileage.

Sharing our enthusiasm for a hobby like this just proves we're all kids at heart. No better way to look at it... except for the fact that we need the funds that come with being an adult, and the time that comes with being retired to enjoy this hobby to the fullest. Or so it would seem.

I may be old, but I try to make up for it by being immature.

Me too it's a beautiful thing.
I always admit to others that I play with trains.
