I was "into trains" heavily by 1944, then entered the railroad motive power industry (EMD) June 1, 1962. Drafted into the U.S. Army in November 1964. Although retired from EMD 20+ years ago, I still like railroading.

Layout building can be a good therapy and bonding for veterans IMO.

US Army: 1st Battalion 67th Armored Regiment - M1 Tanker '87-'94. Man, this brings back memories, some good, some not so good. It is NOT an easy life.

Kudos to all you fine lady’s and gentlemen out there. There is something to be said about the individuals who have served our country. I might not be part of the few and proud, but was raised my one. I try to remind him every day how proud I am of him and what he has accomplished and to remember even in times like this, how valuable the lessons and hardships molded him and passed down to me  . I cannot begin to understand what it took to get through those days, nights and tough situations , but I thank all of you who have.

Here's part of the "missile railcar base" on my last layout.

Pilot in the USAF - 1987-2000. Flew the F-111 and then the F-15E. Airplanes and trains have always been my first loves, since childhood.
