Just got home for the night. And 2 ES44's and my big boy all at once.

I got the CSX and Ferromex. Here is the Ferromex since the CSX is posted above. I feel like I just opened up a Christmas ornament with all those colors.

Pictures are not that good (iphone) and my office is a little dark, but thought people would want to see it quickly. Try to get better pics tomorrow.

Joker,

Glad I could help out. If I didn't have 2 die cast UP Lionel units I would of definitely bought another UP version. But I am holding out for BNSF, KCS and NS.

I really like my Ferromex engine more than I thought I would. It's going to look cool mixed into my KCS units (die cast KCS ES44, SD70ace and upcoming Gray SD70mac)

Excellent! Congrats on getting one, I don't think they made many.

I would have like the road-specific details too, but I wasn't expecting it in a $400 model from Lionel.

When my ES44 arrives next week, either I'll be happy with the details, or sell it on the buy/sell forum.

Where did Lionel say they applied road specific details?

@ rduniii   Why would Lionel ever say "road specific details?" It is nice to know when you purchase a locomotive for a specific railroad at least the headlight would be in the right place. I can't help looking at the new Lionel ES44s and seeing a "road specific detailed" NS Heritage under the paint. Generic detailed is more like it.

Those are very, very nice. Lionel has done a good job with the late phase ES44. I agree the Ferromex is especially striking. I saw one of those a couple of years ago operating as a DPU on the end of BNSF manifest at Emporia, Kansas.

I'm always a little reluctant to talk about things like the headlight issue unless the original thread topic invited prototype comparisons. But since it's already been brought up, I will say that it is too bad that Lionel didn't tool these to account for that and other road-specific detail variations (I see another one that hasn't been mentioned yet). In years past Lionel has done that on other models, as have MTH and Atlas. Keep reminding them, I suggest.

But these are very nice, and I hope you guys enjoy them. I saw a video on another thread, and the sounds were excellent.
