Good Day,

I like that Ferromex color scheme! fyi...............Ferromex ownership: Grupo Mexico owns 74% and Union Pacific Corporation owns 26% of the company, respectively. These Ferromex ES44AC's would look good running with UP or BNSF engines!

I'm waiting for the Iowa Interstate ES44AC's to arrive.

Regards,
Swafford

I used CA to glue it back...seems like it just stuck there when I reformed it to fit like it wanted to be there .

So should be good.

That orange stuff is MU cable.

Thank you. I was wondering so it's a good thing Lionel decided to package it separately bringing attention to it .

I can't help looking at the new Lionel ES44s and seeing a "road specific detailed" NS Heritage under the paint. Generic detailed is more like it.

Have you ever looked at the list of features; for anything in the Lionel catalog.

They list a bunch of silly carp to make the list long.  If they were going to something substantiative like road specific details they would most certainly list that.  The die cast $900+ units had road specific details, the cheaper plastic ones; no.

I realize it's not an ES44AC, but have you checked out the Legacy Dash 9's from a couple of years back?  The CN version looks great, and runs on a minimum of O31.  I picked mine up from Hugh in Kanata.

Great looking units. However, for me, headlight in wrong position ... no sale. If I remember correctly, each new Evolution Lionel cataloged last year had the headlights in the wrong place. Which doesn't make any sense since Lionel's previous GEVO's had headlights in the nose. Is it that hard to get one little detail correct? I would have jumped for an Iowa Interstate engine if they hadn't done this.

The Ferromex ES44AC seems to have the wrong trucks (Hi-Ad instead of the correct Radial) in addition to the headlights at the wrong location.

That is 2 easily visible mistakes for a model with a MSRP of $550. 3-rail hobbyists must love Lionel a lot to keep buying expensive models with wrong features.

These are just my opinion,

Thanks,

I think a lot of us just love toy trains

Since I already have a BNSF die cast version I decided to pass these up,But seeing the pictures here I think I might change my mind,  Now I will have to take a ride to my LHS (plug)Walker Hardware in Totowa NJ he has the CSX and the UP in stock and I know he can get the others, Now I Have to figure out which one I like better,The Ferromex is starting to grow on me, decision, decision.

MSRP is $550 but retail is $400.  For me not a deal breaker.

Well i just got my UP today, it made it out of the box for about 10 minutes and right back in it went. Off to Lionel. The engine would not think about moving until speed 62. You can hear the motor turning and it sounds like its trying to turn 10,000 rpm. I think the gear on the motor was not seated to the truck gears. Oh well. The good thing is I was able to talk Lionel in to sending me a call tag so no shipping for me on this one.

I know this is something that I can fix. But its just the point of letting them know the screwed up. I did however give them props on the Big Boy

JOKER34,  I had this happen to me on my KCS ES44AC.  It was the motor screws weren't tightened down all the way.  Also as JOJO stated,  the little coupling on ends of the motors that turn the gears in the trucks sometimes they loosen up.  Hopefully Lionel will have it back to you.   View This Reply

My CN arrived today. Ground lights, not listed in the catalog, and a pilot seperate from the the trucks.

very nice job on this one Lionel.

Only issue is a small metal casting that kind of looks like a tire stop with a small peg. Have not found where it goes yet. Nice builders plate, but

I can not read it.

I think I am going to like this as much as my trainmasters!
