David, all joking aside I have heard those stories but do not know one.
The best way to carry your purchases is to have your significant other run them back to the car while you keep browsing. My wonderful significant other actually volunteers to do this. Really. And, she often spots items on tables that I would otherwise have missed. I've been asked if I would rent her out. Not a chance.
Re the ATM machine, it was removed from its kiosk a couple of years ago. Did they put it somewhere else? (It's probably empty halfway through Thursday anyway.)

There are several posts about guarding your wallet. I'm always prudent about it, and have never known of a problem. Has anyone had their pocket picked at the meet?
