I'm currently running a layout with 6 Fastrack turnouts.  I'm also using a CAB 2 controller.  My turnouts just have the attached switch controllers on them now but I am interested in trying to control all my turnouts with the LCS system.  From what I understand, you need the ASC 2, and the DB9 cable and power supply.  I think what you are supposed to do is connect the DB9 into the back of the CAB 2 controller base and the other end into the ASC 2 but I'm not sure what to do from there.  How many turnouts can be connected to a ASC 2?  If you need more than one ASC 2, do you use a Sensortrack PDI cable and daisy chain them together?  Do you have to program the CAB 2 controller with the turnouts?  Also, how do you intigrate the sensortrack?  I have one but do not have the cables to connect it to.

Thanks!

If these Fastrack Switches are the Command Control type Switches, then ASC's are not necessary as they get there commands to switch "out and thru" from the radiated signal from the outside rail which radiates the Commands to the switch.

If the above is not the case then Yes, ASC's are necessary.  And yes, the newer ASC 2's do use a Lionel Data Cable daisy chained to all of the little Legacy Control Boxes so that the Commands can be sent to the "Boxes" from the Command Base.

I did not in my first attempt, answer your direct questions.  Each ASC will accommodate 4 switches.  In your case, you would need two ASC's.  And yes each ASC would need a Lionel Cable to Daisey Chain them together to receive the Commands.  You do not program the remote!  You program the individual ASC's.  There is a switch on the ASC 2's that is moved to the PROG (program) setting.  By reading the suggested manual from the previous author you should get the programming steps.
