Im looking for advice on working on the helicopters themselves, not the flatcars. I have one that is in great shape with exception to the landing skid. The rotor blades are attached to a squared shaft that goes through the body, before that shaft goes through the top of the body, there is a round washer type clip that secures the shaft from moving up and down or even coming out. Then on the underside it looks as though the landing skid is pushed onto the shaft inside the helicopter body and finally the small plastic stepped shape pieces that gets its spin from is pressed on which also secures the skids and keeps the entire thing together.
Now here is my issue, it looks as though the small lock type washer needs to be removed so these pieces can slide off the squared shaft and then the new skids can be connected but this lock washer is TIGHT, even if I get a flat head under it i'm afraid i'm gonna crack the helicopter body, some thing if I simply try and pull hard from the bottom and just pull the pressed parts off they feel tight. I really want to take it apart but I don't want to destroy the helicopter in the process. Can someone please explain or link a tutorial on the proper way to do this. I hoping there is some sort of trick to make this a lot easier.
