Hello: Anyone out there know how to replace a traction tire on a Williams Hudson steam Engine. Please do not be vague in your answer. What I'm looking for is a step by step method of doing this task. Drawings, photos all will help. Thank you all in advance with your help. Mike.

I do not have the engine in front of me but...
1. Carefully unscrew nut holding siderod to rear wheel.
Siderod should* now be loose enough to:
2. Remove/cut off old tire
4. Put on new tire (try not to stretch excessively)
5. Retighten nut(s)
6. Repeat for other side, if needed or desired
*You could also remove the front driver nut if needed for easier tire removal (run engine so nut is accessable), but I would not bother with the eccentric.
Thank you sir: Very helpful. Question please:What is the eccentric. Thank you for your time MIke
Eccentric crank/ rods is the name for the "spinning" valvegear on the middle driver (for the Hudson). They are more difficult to remove and replace than the nuts on the other drivers because they require specific positions (so they do not bind), have small spacers and different screws.
Hello Sir: Good Morning Also. Thank you fore both of your answers very helpful indeed. When I recieved your answer this morning I call Micro-Mark and order some micro hex nut wrenchs since I have none. The engine in question arrived new in box from Trainworld. When I removed the engine from the box, one of traction tires was laying in the bottom of the box!!??. This is the first time that this ever happen. Again a deep thanks. Mike
That should be a standard 3/16" hex nut, if that helps at all.
If you have access to any newer Lionel steam, they come with a 3/16" nut driver standard in the spare parts bag.
