Hi Folks,

Simple stupid question from a new Lionel Legacy loco owner...

How can I turn off just the engine sounds on my Legacy GP-9 in regular TMCC mode?

I had an older H16-44 which had the feature of turning the engine sounds off, but leaving the horn and bell, and so did my Atlas GP-7... Is that possible with the Legacy GP-9?

I couldn't find it in the instructions, nor make it happen on the keypad.

Thanks,

Bert

There are 2 volume levels on legacy locos. Both can be accessed under TMCC as well.

AUX1-4,4,4,4.....lowers the main volume..,, (bell tone indicates each level change.)

AUX1-4, AUX1,-4 AUX1-4........lowers the background sounds ( no bell tone indication)

The same keystrokes replacing the #4 button with#1 will bring each level back up.

Now I have no sounds at all. ???

Tried switching engine sounds back on and off to test the AUX1 sequences, and now no sounds come from the loco.

All other TMCC operations test out fine. Runs, couplers work, etc...

Going through the AUX1 + 1 sequence does nothing.

Running AUX +1+1+1+1 also results in no change.

What did I miss?

Did you follow this sequence?

AUX1-4, AUX1,-4 AUX1-4........lowers the background sounds ( no bell tone indication)

If all else fails try an AUX1-0 reset or full reset as described in the engine manual.
