How to Turn Off Legacy Loco Sound? - FIXED

Try AUX1 and press 4 repeatedly.  Not sure if this works in TMCC mode but when operated in Legacy mode it does.

AUX1+4 is the volume, so it kills the horn and bell too.

Tried AUX1 and tapped 4... At first it lowed all the volume, then repeating the process got the motor volume off, but retained the horn/bell. So must be some sequence there.

There are 2 volume levels on legacy locos. Both can be accessed under TMCC as well.

AUX1-4,4,4,4.....lowers the main volume..,, (bell tone indicates each level change.)

AUX1-4, AUX1,-4 AUX1-4........lowers the background sounds ( no bell tone indication)

The same keystrokes replacing the #4 button with#1 will bring each level back up.

Now I must go home and try this as I've read places that it was possible, but never how to do it.  Thanks!

I turn the sound down/off on all my TMCC equipped locomotives by using AUX! 4, 4, 4, 4. To turn the sound back on, AUX1 1.

I knew AUX1 4 4 4 4 turned off all sounds.  I didn't know AUX1 4 AUX1 4 AUX1 4 turned down the engine sounds while leaving the bell and whistle/horn on.

Now I have no sounds at all. ???

Tried switching engine sounds back on and off to test the AUX1 sequences, and now no sounds come from the loco.

All other TMCC operations test out fine. Runs, couplers work, etc...

Going through the AUX1 + 1 sequence does nothing.

Running AUX +1+1+1+1 also results in no change.

What did I miss?

Did you follow this sequence?

If all else fails try an AUX1-0 reset or full reset as described in the engine manual.

Found the proper instructions and did a full reset.

Sounds are back I and I think I finally figured out the proper sequences...
