Hi all I just saw the other guys post about switch motor noise, but I think I have a bit of a different problem.

I have a realtrax switch and when I use the DCS remote it will not throw either way and makes a loud hum, but if a train hit's

the non derail feature it works fine. Does anyone know what that could be.

Alex,

I know this is gonna sound silly, however, use a voltmeter and see if the switch motor is getting constant voltage. Check it while switching the turnout and afterwards. Maybe the AIU is continuing to send voltage or ground signal to the switch. Also take note if its happening to any other switches connected to the same AIU.

It sounds like you've incorrectly wired the switch track to the AIU. The following diagram, from The DCS O Gauge Companion 2nd Edition, page 71, has the correct wiring:
