Hello all, Haven't posted in awhile, I have decided to make a major modification on my double deck layout, its been a great layout for 12 plus years, but I am not getting younger and having a 7' long by 36" high crawl under is getting tough on my knees after years of football, motorcycles, skiing, etc. So I have decided to put a new side access 36" door in the side of my garage and build a roll away section to my layout, that way myself and others can just walk in and out, my job is pretty complicated (36" x 36" roll away x 72" tall, multiple tracks and multiple levels, I am looking for advice, maybe some pictures of other who have done the same thing, thank you ncng.

Not sure how they pull this off, but it is very impressive.
yes, the swing section is the answer.
Room to swing in or out is required.
Do you have space to swing the section?
I will find a post on one or two that I have seen on the forum and post it.
These used a wheeled solution or casters. One fit into a curve or corner. Another a straight section.
A photo of the area would be really helpful for some of the forum members to assist in refining the solution.

NCNG..........What happened to your original post ? I built this ten years ago and it still works perfect. It can be made to swing in but then requires angle cuts and maybe a little less wide depending on your layout. This was posted on your other thread from yesterday

Did you see the Backshop series in OGR about how he did his roll-out section? That's probably worth reading.

Don't ignore the idea of lift outs. You may only need one on the lower level.
