I caught this today in Martinez Ca - BNSF train. Thought it was interesting.

Don't think I've seen such neat/stencil type tagging. Is that what it is?
Yes. I found a better image:
At least well executed art! :-)
It’s really neat looking. Never would have guessed a tagger would also be a rail fan! Thanks for sharing.
Car owner or RR condone this "art"? I see the reporting marks, dimensional and maintenance data appears to have been added after the artwork was done!

They don't condone graffiti, but it costs a good piece if change to repaint rolling stock.
Repainting usually occurs when some major shopping is needed.

I just now realized the sleeping “Chessie” cat makes a C out of the logo.
O.k. so I'm "Stuck in Stupid". Can someone clarify for me the "F" with the swoosh? Is that supposed to be the "F" in BNSF or is that a new logo for the FEC?

Yes, the "F" is for BNSF. The "K" is for KCS.

Also, how is it that freight cars get tagged by the thousands but the containers moving across North America on TTX flats are always nice and clean without so much as a single mark whatsoever to be found anywhere on them?
I agree, always wondered where the security is around R.R. properties etc. How in the world do taggers have the time and equipment to deface an entire 86' auto rack top to bottom and not get caught.
It looks almost like an Isle of Denial attack, but only one of the three road logo components is a fallen flag. Must have had a great deal of time alone with that car to pull that off.
I'm well aware that the tagging of RR cars is actually vandalism done by trespassers...I'm also in awe of the artistic talent displayed, and the artwork is a nice improvement of a bland paint job....and I agree that the vulgar subject matter that is sometimes used should be a cause for tougher prosecution...
@Trinity River Bottoms Boomer posted:Another thing Henry, what is the cost of purchasing a case of spray cans required to tag so many freight cars? Could it be that taggers are in reality disgrunted millionairs who are so bored with their lifestyles that they take it out by defacing private property instead of donating their idle hours helping families in need....

What makes you think they pay for the paint??
That KFC paint has been on a few cars....
Could this possibly be a memorial for Stobe the Hobo who was a member of the Kolonels Freight Crew (KFC).
Ron
Anyways it keeps the cars from rusting out.
Is that car aluminum? Musta been sitting in a private siding obscured by buildings or vegetation . Since Walmart no longer has the $1/can paint l used and loved, stolen $4 cans would seem to get more security attention. Tagging and modeling both may be curtailed.

Are they locked up? They should be. And there is an age requirement to buy. You can tag and get intoxicated at the dame time....

Ron, I think you are on to something. Wasn't he a big fan of KFC chicken too? Thanks for the link. It's nice to see a website preserving his videos.
