Hi,
Please, I would like to know, when did I.C. start using the orange paint scheme on their equipment?
Thank you,

Somewhere around the early 1970's, 1972 if I recall correctly.

Thank you Rusty,
I always wondered, because I like I.C's.-(I.C.G's.) attractive orange color and until now I'm asking about it.

Actually it was the middle to late 1960's that they went with the classic split rail logo and orange and white diesels and equipment...a change from an all black railroad...except for the chocolate brown and orange streamliners...

I was "shootin' from the hip" anyway without my reference books handy. I was close but no cigar, The IC merged with the GM&O and became the ICG in 1972.
Thinking about it in the musty recesses of my mind, 1968 sounds more like the year the IC went orange & white.

Thank you all for you helpful replies.

Found it.
The IC went orange and white on January, 1967.
GP40's 3040-3059 were the first locomotives delivered in this scheme.

Thank you again, Rusty,
