Looking at these engines on the 3rd rail page and viewed a few videos on YouTube. For those of you here that have the B&O T-3, what do you like and / or dislike?
This would be my first 3rd Rail purchase. Thanks in advance!

Not much to dislike in my opinion, although I would have liked some window glazing. Easy enough to add that so not a big deal. I love the uniqueness of the extra long vandy tender so I had to go with that one. Which version are you considering? Go for it!
One of the guys in our modular group (Independent Hi-Railers, Midwest Division) has both versions of those Sunset/3rd Rail B&O T-3 Mountains. They certainly look great and operate extremely well. Naturally he models the B&O!
Check out Youtube...there are several videos showing this model in operation. I believe one of the persons goes by pennsy484. I believe that he is also a Forum member.

Dave,
I got one in last week. I thought it was pretty nice!

Picked my engine up yesterday and very pleased with it in appearance and
operation. Only one issue tho. The rear coupler sags quite a bit as shown
in the photo...
Anyone else with this engine have a similar issue and if so what did you do to fix it?
There is a small spring and screw that attach the rear coupler to the tender frame. Looks like either there is something missing or the spring isn't applying enough upward pressure.
Also, if your coupler is fine can you take a pic of the underside of the tender and show how it is attached so I can compare it to mine.
Thanks
Hello,
Contact Sunset right away. In particular, Scott Mann- sdmann@3rdrail.com He will make it right.

I agree with Steam Guy if you don't want to try and adjust it yourself. I would send a photo but I already removed mine and replaced it with a scale coupler.
Droopy Coupler: Turn the tender upside down and see if the mount is bent down. If it is, you can bend it back with some needle nose pliers. If the spring is too weak, we can send you a stronger coupler spring to hold it up.
You can reach me at sdmann@3rdrail.com for any problems.
Thanks for the reply Scott. Been busy past few days and just now sent you an email on this.
