Hi Folks...I'm new to the forum and will appreciate any advice. I have an Legacy controlled Southern Crescent Limited 4-6-2. It has been running great for close to a year now. The other day, I got the common 3 light flash sequence in the Cab light. I understand that this means a problem with the smoke fan motor. What I don't understand is that while hitting the Reset on the legacy remote and trying to get the smoke unit back operational, all my engine lights went out and will not come back on; with one exception. When the engine starts to move, the ash pan glow light comes on, but no other light ever operates. I've done the full engine reset, several times, by entering the engine number while in the program mode, then letting the engine set unpowered for at least 10 seconds before returning to the Run mode (as indicated in the owners manual). This doesn't help. Any other ideas? I'd love to get the engine back to normal operation, while I wait for availability of a replacement fan motor, which Lionel's website indicates won't be available until late in April 2015....Arrghh! Thanks in advance for any help.... Jim

Oh yes, I've held down the Aux 2 button for several seconds to get to the lighting control and tried all combinations of light selection...no help there either.
Another bit of info...I'm running Legacy and MTH DCS on the same track. I don't know if this could be involved with the problem, or not. I've not had any problem in running both systems at the same time, in the past. Also, there are four other engines running at the same time; one is TMCC and one is DCS, the others are Legacy.
Running DCS on the same track has nothing to do with this issue, let's get that out of the way up front.
I suggest you program the locomotive for a different TMCC ID number, and load the orange module again, see if that changes anything.
Thanks...gave that a try...no change. I also tried running it in conventional mode. Same symptoms. Engine will run fine, with sound and ashpan glow, but no other lighting (not even the cab light flash for the inop smoke fan motor). I'm getting pretty convinced that some component decided to fail while I was doing resets. Traced the cables last evening. Looks like the ashpan glow gets it's power from the motor drive voltage, which would explain why the ashpan glow comes on when the engine begins to move. The other lights are all wired to what I would call the main board.
It is beginning to sound like the main board lighting circuit has died.
The aggravatingthing is that I can do electronics repair to the component level. But, I need circuit diagrams which I understand Lionel will not release. I hate sending items in for warrantee work. Guess I may have to on this one. Wonder how long it will take to get it back since they are out of fan motors. Thanks again
Yep, it would be really keen if we could get schematics, but don't hold your breath.
