The "entity" that moves the tool you touched 30 seconds ago, steals the screw that you drop right at your foot, or hides your glasses when you lay them down for a moment, has started another evil process at my layout. It has decided that I need a broken throw bar on a switch every now and then, and it is always the most inaccessible turnout at the time.  Never one right near the edge.  Never!

Is this kind of thing usually encountered because something was done in the past that needs to be avenged?  Man, I hope not.

Lately I have begun to feel that, in general, my layout is trying to kill me.  Maybe my wife is whispering to it that she will share the insurance payment or something.  Who knows?

You too Bucky?

I thought I was the only one being targeted by the unknown when it comes to the layout

I live alone & have no problems with any layout materials, BUT... Someone constantly moves my tools!  They are NEVER where I put them and having multiples of the same tool is of no use as all of them at the same time end up somewhere else.  Sometimes I will find them outside... Even in the car!  It makes no sense!      D.

Hartman,

I've noticed that when I can't find a tool, buy a replacement, use it, and go to hang it in a logical pace, I always find the original there. WHO put the original tool right where I went to put its replacement???

I've always been under the adage that it's better to have something and not need it, as opposed to needing something and not have it.  As thus, my collection of tools. materials, and building supplies has increased exponentially over the years.

Boy, does that theory ever work great!  Nowadays, when I need it, it's far faster and easier to go buy another one, than look for what I know I have somewhere but would take 2 days to dig around and find it!
